The Federal Labor Government has pledged to reduce the expense of buying and setting up a new home battery as part of a $2.3 billion initiative that is central to its campaign for re-election.
While the new Cheaper Home Batteries Program will commence on 1st July 2025, you can get the ball rolling now to benefit from the program.

The new Cheaper Home Batteries Program is designed to reduce the expense of buying and setting up a new home battery as part of a $2.3 billion initiative.
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program will:
Help 1 million households install battery storage
Applies to new and for pre-existing solar systems
Provide rebates that could reduce battery costs by thousands
Work alongside existing state rebates and VPP programs for even greater savings
Be delivered through the existing Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme
